Simon Holland is the founder and Director of the Music Computing Lab at the Open University, UK. His research focuses on music computing, human-computer interaction, and digital health. He has supervised ten PhD students in music and HCI, and served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on ten externally funded research projects totaling nearly £4.5 million. He is Principal Investigator of the EPSRC CHIME Network on Music and Human-Computer Interaction. He was lead editor of two books on music and HCI, and co-author of Human-Computer Interaction, a long-standing global bestseller in the field. He designed the musical technologies Harmony Space and the Haptic Bracelets.
